For his last contribution of his three part donation, Armando generously gave $350,000 to the San Antonio Humane Society (SAHS), totalling to $1,050,000.
The Humane Society is the United States’ largest and most effective animal protection nonprofit organization. Every year, they provide hands-on care and service for more than 100,000 animals.
The SAHS is a no-kill organization that has served San Antonio and its surrounding areas since 1952. Every year, the SAHS provides shelter, medical treatment, and rehabilitation for more than 4,000 animals.
Their mission is to protect and improve the lives of dogs and cats by providing shelter, care, adoption, rescue, spay and neuter programs, and community education.
The animals obtained have been injured, abused, surrendered by their owners, or found as strays and remain in their care until they are adopted. SAHS uses their adoption, volunteer, foster, and educational programs to educate the public about the importance of responsible pet ownership, microchipping, and spaying/neutering.
Because they are a no-kill organization, SAHS does their best to give all animals a second chance to a go to a good home.
Many assume that the SAHS receives funds from the Humane Society of the United States, but that isn’t the case. Thanks to Armando’s generous donation, the SAHS will be sustainable for many years to come.
